Pirate Decor - Even Blackbeard Would Be Proud!

Ahoy matey! Lookin' for a new bedroom design that befits a swarthy spirit and a yearning to sail the seven seas? Then hoist anchor and prepare for a voyage of discovery, one with untold treasure at its end for you and your family. Turn your child's bedroom into a pirate's cove of delights.

Captain of the Ship

Creating a pirate themed bedroom for your child starts with the focal point of every pirate's eye - his ship. And in the case of a pirate themed bedroom, this ship would be the bed. A great way to make your child feel like captain of his own ship is to have built a custom pirate ship themed bed.

The Jolly Roger will pale in comparison to the awesome ship you can design as your child's bed. You can give it an upper and lower deck, put in portholes, even a ladder leading up to the crow's nest. For extra detail, you can include a wooden gangplank for prisoners to walk. You can also place a giant fluttering sail overhead and transform the piece into a whole new kind of canopy bed. And don't forget a flag bedecked with a skull and crossbones, reminding all, far and wide, whose ship this is and what the penalty is for insolence and treachery.

To the Horizon

Decorate the walls of your child's pirate themed bedroom with rich ocean blue and light sky blue, dotted with white clouds. Where sky and ocean meet, you can paint the horizon looping around the entire circumference of the room. And don't forget a distant island with seagulls hovering around it, so that your little pirate captain has opportunity to occasional shout "Land ho!"

Map to Buried Treasure

Another wall covering idea is a giant map to buried treasure, be it in the form of a mural painted on the wall of the room or custom theme bed or a giant framed picture or the design of the curtains covering the windows.

Accessories for a Pirate Themed Room

A treasure chest makes a perfect clothing or toy chest, and can even be built into the custom theme pirate ship bed for space-saving convenience. A large compass or giant wooden steering wheel would make an excellent clock for the room.

The design creations of Joann Means are fantasy custom theme beds that ignite a child's imagination and penchant for adventure. By focusing your efforts to design and decorate your child's bedroom around a custom theme bed designed and created by Sweet Dream Children's Interiors (http://www.sweetdreambed.com), you give them a dreamy space all their own while covering your needs as a parent for strength and durability, versatility of use, and convenient, space-saving functionality.

All of the custom theme beds you'll find at Sweet Dream Children's Interiors (http://www.sweetdreambed.com) are personally designed by Joann and hand-built by her husband, master carpenter Johnny Means. Each one invites and inspires endless hours of imaginative play while also providing a safe and comfortable place to bed down each night.

The Secrets Behind Potty Training Your New Puppy

The excitement that new puppy owners feel when they first bring their chubby little furball home is often somewhat squashed when the tiny guy takes his first squat on the carpet. Armed with a sense of purpose, the new pet owner resolves to prevent future puddles by imparting some house training knowledge to the newest member of the family. As the days pass, the new owner is crazed, puppy is clueless, and the damp areas on the carpet are beginning to look like spots on a Dalmatian.

Many pet owners regale their audiences with tales of their superior dog who took to potty training so well that they had to do little or nothing themselves to get him to that point. Yet, most owners feel as if they have been presented with the only pup in the world that just doesn't get it. The reality is that puppies aren't born with potty training knowledge and guiding your new friend through the process can be frustrating and time consuming - for both the owner and the puppy.

Just like people, puppies learn best when they are young. This is the time for owners to step up to the plate and deal with any bad habits firmly and consistently. Sure, the little guy is adorable, but caving in to those adorable brown eyes doesn't do anyone any good. Puppies want to please. It's up to the owner to clearly define the boundaries that will make living together pleasant for everyone in the household.

The most widely used method for potty training a puppy is the Hit or Miss Method. A highly effective way to potty train, this method involved physically moving the puppy outside to the same area several times a day and waiting for him to do his thing. Although more often than not, it feels like a waste of time, the puppy will eventually get the idea.

The first few times that puppy is taken outside to his "spot", he will probably use the opportunity to play. This is normal, but owners have to remind themselves that this is not playtime and they should not return the playful behavior. Usually what happens is puppy gets a bit bored with the stick-in-the mud human and has an accident. Eureka! That's exactly how it's supposed to go! Now that his little accident has left an odor, bringing him back outside to the same spot frequently will teach him that this spot is his own particular powder room. Within a short time, all the owner has to do is open the door and the now educated puppy will automatically go to his spot to do his business.

Don't forget to lavish the little romper with praise! Dogs thrive on the knowledge that they've done something that warrants approval. Reward the puppy with a treat, a "good dog", or a toss of his favorite toy. Just like any kid, the puppy will discover the joys of going potty in the right place and will want to repeat the behavior.

The Hit or Miss Method works because the owner makes frequent attempts to catch their puppy being good. There's no way to know exactly when he's going to feel the urge to go, but like most babies, he doesn't always know either. Until he figures out when and where he's supposed to go, he'll just do it when the moment hits him. It's the job of the pet owner to catch the puppy before he soils the carpet and direct him toward an acceptable potty area.

Again, there is no way to know, at first, exactly when puppy needs to potty, but there are a few recommendations that can help predict when the urge might strike. In general, new puppy owners should take the little one outside after he eats, drinks, first thing when he wakes up and right before bedtime. Also, any time a puppy gets excited, he might have an accident, so take him out whenever anyone enters the house including when mom and dad get home from work. The more puppy owners try to catch their puppy being good, the better. Taking him outside every hour the first couple of days until he begins to get the gist of the activity is always a good idea.

The time that a new puppy owner puts into the training of the family pet pays off exponentially by teaching the basics to the new family member that will make him a valued and welcome member of the household.

7 Tips For Reading Children's Books Out Loud

There is nothing more satisfying than reading to your child out loud and transforming the text in the book into something that feels like a living experience to your kids. How do you do that? Sounds like it's simple, but it's not! My first experience with stories was with my own Dad. A larger than life personality, he would not simply read me stories, he would add me to them as well! He had a tremendous talent for improvisation and was capable of making the story soar way above any writer's dreams for their books.

Me? Not quite as talented! But I've read to my two boys for a total of 14 years, and one of them was based back in England. That one provided quite a challenge! Phone calls were a dollar a minute back then. I bought a cheap microphone and plugged it into my old cassette recorder and literally read the picture book from start to finish. I then sent him the finished cassette along with the paper book and waited to hear the screams of dismay from my ex-wife as she was tormented nightly by my voice!

Now, I create digital picture books for kids, and as such, I have supervised and engineered the recording of more than 30 online picture books and have even narrated some as well. On top of that, I have guided many adults and children through the recording process. My job is to get the perfect performance out of everyone. So if you've ever wondered why your kids don't pay quite as much attention to you reading a story as they do to Uncle Jim, listen up! I'm here to help. Here are a few easy to follow tips that will change everything!

7. Reading out loud is not the same as reading to yourself. That is probably the biggest mistake people make. You are now the court jester! You have to pack as much energy into the story as possible. Make it live!

6. Practice a few books without the kids present. Yes, you heard me, PRACTICE! Take a book into the 'loo' (rest room) and act it out. Sounds great because it echos! Pretend you're on stage. Let it go!

5. Enunciate your words clearly. Don't slur or mumble. Every word must be understood.

4. No monotony! Be animated. Go beyond your normal boundaries. Read with verve and excitement. Ad lib a little - you can even change one of the character's names to be that of the child you're reading to!

3. Get into the characters. When you're reading dialog, imagine you're that person speaking. Try to make each character different in some simple way.

2. Don't rush. Making mistakes will pull the kids out of the imaginary world you're putting them in. Take your time, but allow your eyes to run a little ahead of your lips, that way you'll know what's coming and can put the right emphasis on it.

1. Imagine you're the kid you're reading to. Imagine the eager look of excitement on that kid's face as the plot unfolds. You are creating a movie in the kid's head! Have fun with it. Be it. They will always remember storytime with Mom and Dad.

So to wrap it up, let your hair down, allow your inner kid to emerge, be a little looney, make some silly faces and noises, ad lib a little and just watch the reactions as the kids become totally involved and clamor for more when you're done.

Good luck and happy reading!

Kids and Pencil Cases

Pencil cases have been around for years and years and were extremely popular in the 50s and 60s. They're still popular now, and are used by hundreds if not thousands of companies as a promotional tool. They come in many styles, and even today there is a call for mass-produced pencil cases. Although some group pencil bags under this heading, we will not, as pencil bags are merely that, a plastic of heavy cloth or canvas bag with a zipper that is made of a size that would hold a pencil in length.

The venerable case is what we shall discuss. Pencil cases are made to hold anywhere from 2 to a dozen or more pencils of varying shapes and sizes. The case is it of is often made of wood but it can also be made of metal wood. It is designed so that people will be kept free from accidentally being stuck by a pencil. This happens frequently because pencils are usually kept sharpened.

Pencil cases may be plain or have decorations. Often there is an associated theme with the case decoration. Many kid friendly cartoons and television or movie characters have had their likenesses on these cases. The Hello Kitty likenesses have been popular for about 10 years and continue to be a favorite. Businesses also promote their brands on pencil cases, as the flat surface is an ideal promotional space for businesses looking to market to children. Some pencil cases or boxes have functional value added with enclosed or attached math tables or pencil sharpeners. There are even some round metal tins with screw on tops that are being offered as cases for pencils.

Schools are the most likely location in which you will see the pencil case phenomenon in full force. At the beginning of every school year almost every grammar school child will plead for a pencil case, usually one with his favorite cartoon or hero's likeness gracing the outside. Pencil cases are dutifully taken to school but their follow up use is a bit shaky. For most kids, putting the pencils back seems to take way too much trouble. Pencil cases are held in hands and used as pretend swords. They are lost with some regularity and the hard plastic ones get stepped on and broken. Life is tough for the protectors of fingers and pencils.

You can find these at almost any dollar store, supermarket or other retail establishment. Some party suppliers even offer them as party favors for the grade school kids. And if you have ever had the joy and fun of giving one of these parties you will know firsthand that kids love to get these as little gifts. Go figure. I am not certain of the attraction of a child for these unless it is the advertising draw. It is almost impossible to find a plain pencil box anywhere. They all have some link to television or the movies.

Some adults even collect these little guys, and of course they are looking for the ones that are ole, unusual, or have a particular cartoon character or television character associated with it. It might be fun at that to look and see how many cases you could find with dogs or horses emblazoned on them.....Just bear in mind in the middle of the summer their popularity wanes but in a couple of months they are going to be at the head of the class.

A Big Leap in Kids Fashion

Gone are the days when your kid would like to wear anything that you ask him/her to wear. And if you thought colorful and showy dresses are the only things that look best on them, hang on there, for times have changed, and so have kids fashion. Today, children are more conscious and choosy than what they used to be a decade before. Keeping that in mind, todays clothiers have given kids fashion a big leap from what it was in the 80s and 90s.

The little boys and girls want their dresses to define themselves now. And they want to look fashionable always, just like their daddies and mommies or aunts and uncles. So every season you will find a new range added to the childrens clothing line with most designer brands. Well, that brings us to the discussion: designer wear is not a monopoly of the old and well-heeled anymore. Even the kids can flaunt a Sonia Rykiel or Magil with the same lan as the tight-laced honcho of a software company.

Its good news indeed! Your favorite designer brands are now thinking wide and accommodating a lot in their childrens line to give the perfect gear to those teeny-weeny beings. And with that, you shouldnt be surprised if you are stopped in the crowd to answer questions like Your girl looks like an angel. Where did you buy her dress from? Best part is, its not just the brand. Kids designer wear speaks of quality too. A lot of head-work goes into making these dresses practical than only attractive.

Your children may not be particularly gentle or shy. In fact, chances are that they would run the neighborhood wild with their presence. Ordinary clothing often wears out before they are even old enough to replace. The designer brands make the kids dresses chic, comfortable and hardwearing. From christening gowns to party wear to funky everyday wear like reversible tops and jackets, fun appliqus and fine embroidery the brands have all kinds of gear to pamper the little ones and make them stand out in the crowd. For instance, Sonia Rykiel Enfant, the kids line of Sonia Rykiel, has an exclusive range of childrens fashion wear that are superbly styled and perfectly stitched to allow comfort and distinction to the child.

In todays busy world, if you dont have the time to run to the stores and hunt out the best for your dear son or daughter, things are made simple here too! You can just pick a dress online sitting at your desk at work. Several online stores offer your favorite designer brands like Pampolina today. Now, isnt that reason enough to get a little choosier? Online shops and boutiques showcasing kids fashion gear is your answer. So say no to the ordinariness of yesterday and welcome the change!

How to Find Vending Machine Locations

A vending business is all about location. Where you choose to put you machine can dramatically effect your profits. Let's look at the energy gum craze. In the right location, (such as a hospital where doctors and nurses are in need of energy but unable to carry around soda or coffee), this could be a real moneymaker. However in the wrong location, (like a school - yesI have seen this happen), it probably would not last very long, (who wants a school full of hyper kids or teenagers?) I would personally be gunning for a hospital break room. Doctors and nurses can't work with a soda in their hand, but energy gum is easily hidden, and has the same effect. I personally think this would be a killer vending location for energy gum. In this business, it is all about knowing how to find the vending locations.

When you are first learning how to find vending locations, it is important to try to step away from what you want, and try to look at what your surrounding community of customers needs. I know what you may be thinking, "you're nuts, I have the coolest new interactive vending machine and I love it and I know they will love it." Believe me, I have been there. But being successful in this business generally means putting yourself into your customers shoes. Figuring out how they will view the product. Let's take for example the supermarket. Once I started looking at this business I noticed that the candy machine never seemed to empty as quickly as the toy machines. So I started thinking about this. And I realized, when parents take their kids to the supermarket those kids are usually pretty bored, making the trip stressful for everyone. Candy would do nothing to fix this, but a toy, well that is enough to keep a kid occupied through most of the shopping trip. This probably all seems like common sense to you right now, or it may be a little confusing. Whether you are experienced in this business or just learning how to find vending locations, I challenge you to do this; while you are out, whether it be shopping, eating, or filling up your car, take a quick glance around to see if there are any vending machines there. If not, think about two things:

1 - Would the customers here benefit from a vending machine, and if so, what product would they benefit from, (candy, stickers, dvd rentals, etc).

2- Would the workers here benefit from possibly having a vending machine in their breakroom and if so, what type of products might be beneficial, (I realize that you may not be able to determine this for sure until you get to see the breakroom, but it's good to have a few ideas when you talk to the manager about placing your machines).

At first, it may take a conscious effort to do this whenever you are out in public. But it will become a habit for you, and through trial and error, (which stinks but we all have to go through it to some degree or another), you will be able to look at a storefront and a flood of ideas will just come to you. Learning how to find vending locations will almost become second nature, and you will start to see vending opportunities in places you may have never noticed before.

Network Marketing Business - Why Would Anyone Choose Network Marketing?

Why would anyone choose network marketing, as a means of income? I mean, you've heard all of the stories about network marketing, let's list some of them. Network marketing is a scam. Network marketing is a pyramid scheme. You can't really make money in network marketing. You have to list your friends and family and I don't want to do that. You have to be a sales person to be in network marketing and I can't sell. These are just a few of the reasons that people do not choose network marketing as a means of income. Now, let's address each of these reasons individually to see if they are legit.

Network marketing is a scam. Granted that there are some network marketing/MLM's that are truly scams, there are many more that are not. It's very easy to tell which companies are not scams. All you have to do is check with your states Attorney General. Network marketing is a pyramid scheme. Hmm, this one has always puzzled me. I work in corporate America and do network marketing on a part-time basis. When I look at the difference between my corporate job and my network marketing business, I noticed that my corporate job is much more like a pyramid then my network marketing business. Let look at the organizational structure of your typical corporate job. It usually has a CEO at the very top of the company, followed by the President, Vice-president, CFO, CIO, middle management, and of course the workers. Now, in a corporate job, there is usually a ceiling for most positions. HR usually outlines this whenever someone is hired. On the other side of the scope, in my network marketing company, I have never been told of any ceiling. You and you alone control how much you will make in your network marketing business.

Another one of these reasons for not joining is "I can't make any money". If you join the right type of company, that has a proven, duplicatible system and the right type of pay plan, then the sky is the limit on your income potential. In corporate America, it doesn't matter how hard or how much you work, you normally can only make as much as your company is willing to pay you. As for the listing friends and family, that is a lie from this industry. You can grow your business, without ever involving your friends or family. For a more detail explanation of this, you'll want to download the free e-book, available at the end of my article.

The last one is probably the easiest to answer. I don't know of many people who enjoy selling or being sold. I sold high-line cars for 4 years and I'll tell you what, even with very expensive cars, people still don't like to be sold. They want to get in and get out. Network marketing is no different. You don't want to go around trying to sell people to join your business or buy your products. So, how do you overcome selling? You do what you've been doing since you were 5 years old, you network. Here is a great example of what I'm referring too: As a kid, you probably received a toy from your parents, maybe a G.I. Joe or a Light Bright (or something to that effect) and what did you do the minute you got that toy? You probably called a friend or a cousin and shared what new toy you had just received. I'm sure you told them just how cool this new toy was and how excited you were to receive it. Well, what do you think those kids were going to ask their parents to buy them? You guessed it, the exact same toy you received. It's the same when you go and see a great movie. You can't help but share with somebody how good the movie was and that they should definitely go and see it. Well, getting involved in a network marketing business is no different. If you truly believe in your products, share with people how good those products affected you. The same holds true for the business aspect of this venture. If you truly believe in the business, share with people how good the business is to you and how it's affecting you. No need to sell, all you need to do is share.

I leave you with this, what is the better options for you: a) Go to college, get a good job, and work their for 20+ years and get a retirement that will not sustain your dreams, much less your real world needs or b) Find the right network marketing company, learn the system, share, and teach others to do the same so you can earn an income that will truly provide you with the lifestyle you've only dreamed of? I'm sure the choice is easy.

Kid's Bedroom Furniture - Know What's Best

Thinking of creating the perfect bedroom for your kids? You may be doing them a disservice if you don't really have a grasp of what kids want and what they need (which they may not realize they want) before you go shopping.

Lower Beds

While as an adult we can enjoy high-sitting, pillow top beds that are well off the ground, these are not often the best choice for children, especially those under 10. Little ones are prone to roll around a lot while they are sleeping and periodically fall out of bed. You want to make sure the kids bedroom furniture you choose will make the bed they will be falling out of low enough to the ground that they will not get hurt.

Watch the Edges

Another thing to look at in kids bedroom furniture is the edges. There are some beautiful pieces of furniture out there on the market, but a lot of it has pointed edges. In a child's room, this is an accident waiting to happen. While you may tell them time and time again not to run in the house, it will happen, and it's best if you have rounded edges on the furniture for the time when they run into it.

Getting Homework Done

From pre-school to high school, your kid is going to need a space to do homework, so you should figure this into your decision on kids bedroom furniture. Many of today's kid's room suites can have a desk as a part of the package, since this is a must-have for a child. One thing to keep in mind as you are selecting a desk is that there also needs to be adequate lighting for your child to work by. If the room is not well enough lit, or you are thinking of putting the desk in a corner, which may be a little darker, make sure the desk has space for a lamp that can be used to brighten things up.

Shelves

Kids have a lot of items that need shelving. Books, games, puzzles and more can be neatly stacked on shelves. While many parents like the idea of a toy box in a younger child's room, toy boxes do not work for items such as board games and puzzles, unless you like the box falling open and searching for pieces that have made their way to the bottom. It's best to have a neat place to put these things away.

Storage

As adults we understand the idea of spring-cleaning and limiting clutter. For kids, this is a foreign concept. Kids will always have stuff. Lots of stuff. So, when you are considering kids bedroom furniture, think storage. Whether it's under-bed drawers, extra dressers, shelves or other options, the more storage you have, the better chance the room may periodically be clean.

Friend Space

Kids will have slumber parties and other sorts of gatherings at your house. While adults use the living room or kitchen for these get-togethers, kids like to show off their room. Make sure your kids bedroom furniture purchases are conducive to sleepovers and more than one child wanting to sit and play.

Improve Your Yard and Garden With an ATV Plow

Like many parents, Ive always had trouble getting my adolescent son to do work around the house. Im really big on my yard and all the outdoor work that comes with it. I do a lot of gardening, a lot of shoveling, and even more trimming and loading. For years, it was nearly impossible to get my son to help with any of this, and I finally stopped asking for any assistance at all.

A couple years ago, the family up and moved to Colorado. And not just any part of Colorado the Rocky Mountains. We found a nice house with a great yard in a small community called Evergreen, about 25 miles west of Denver in the foothills of the Rockies. To our surprise, the house came with a little bonus: A big wooden shed on the property containing an old ATV and a bunch of accessories to go along with it.

After arriving in late November, we found ourselves settled right in time for the winters first big snowstorm. And boy, did it ever come down. After three days of constant blizzard conditions and over five total feet of snow, we found ourselves trapped behind 200 yards of snow-packed driveway. The thought of attempting to shovel that huge area was overwhelming, until I recalled seeing a snow plow fitting for the old ATV in the shed. Hoping this might do the trick, I tracked out to the shed to see if I could put it together.

With a couple calls to the manufacturer of the ATV (Kawasaki), and the manufacturer of the snow plow (WARN), I was set up and ready to go. Curiously, I only made it to the edge of the garage before my teenage son was running at me with wide eyes and a never-before-seen look of interest in household chores. Amazingly, the kid begged me to shovel the driveway, a task he had always faked a cold to get out of.

In just two hours, the ATV had plowed the entire 200 yards of driveway, and my son ran in as excited as if he had just spent the time on his snowboard. For the remainder of the winter season, his eyes lit up each and every time the snow fell, and we never spent more than a couple hours snowed in. During those great hours, my wife and I would simply warm up a pot of hot cocoa and watch the amazing transformation taking place from the warmth of the house.

When spring came around and it was time to get started on my tree trimming and garden duties, I found a similar interest in these outdoor chores. I would trim the branches, and my son would load them into the ATV plow and transport them to the edge of the property. He then spent a week straight digging up dirt and proportioning areas of land for my grand gardening plans. In a fraction of the time it had taken in previous years, I had a great garden, thanks mostly to the help of my son and his new favorite toy.

In the past two years, I havent shoveled a bit of snow in the winter. For the past two summers, I havent put a bit of work into my garden. Yet I still have the best looking yard and garden on the block, and my son did it all with an old ATV and utility plow. And anytime the neighbors come to ask me how I got my son to be so helpful around the yard, I simply point at that old ATV and say Get one of those and youll see for yourself.

Ryan Heath is the owner of 4 Wheel Online and one of the greatest gardens in Colorado. Coloring Pages - A Great Way to Keep Your Kid's Minds Active

Kids Motorized Scooters - How to Decide Between Gas Or Electric?

Kids Motorized Scooters are one of the most popular gifts on the market today.Just a few years a go, your son or daughter might have been happy with a kick scooter, but now they want something with a little more oomph.Kids Motorized Scooters are great for delivering that whether you go with a kids gas powered scooter or a kids electric scooter. However, deciding between whether to get a gas or electric scooter can be a little more challenging. Here, are a few questions you should consider in helping figure out this issue:

1.How fast do I want the scooter to go?

For many parents, safety is priority number one.One of the biggest concerns about scooters is the speed with which the gas models can go.Kids gas powered scooters go on average about 30 miles per hour. This speed may be a little faster than you would prefer. If this is the case, a kids electric scooter may be more to your liking because they average about 15 to 20 miles per hour. However, expect there may be some opposition on your hands if you opt for electric because kids often want the faster speed all things being equal.

2.Would a fill-up or recharge be more convenient for me?

Ideally, your son or daughter would be taking care of the upkeep of their scooter. However, many parents know that they will often have to step in and help with some of your children's daily chores. This is no different than the maintenance of the scooter. For this reason, you need to decide will it be easier for you to take it with you every two months for a fill-up at the gas station or to have it be charged up at the house. The answer here largely comes down to what will work best for you.

3.Is the cost a factor in the decision?

Generally, the cost of kids gas powered scooters or kids electric scooters are about the same. You can expect to pay on average around $300 to $600.However, the disparity in price between the two is usually determined based on the yearly energy source costs between fill-up gas costs and the electricity costs. With rising gas prices, the kids gas powered scooters tend to cost slightly more in this department.

4.Do I want to teach some responsibility with this gift?

Kids motorized scooters can be a great tool at helping teach your kids about handling greater responsibilities.Generally speaking, kids electric scooters are probably better at teaching responsibility than kids gas powered scooters because of their need to be recharged on a more frequent basis. However, if you are having the kid fill up his own gas scooter, this may turn out to be a wash in the end.

By keeping these questions in mind, it should be a little easier in deciding between the two types of kids motorized scooters.Regardless of whether you choose gas or electric, we think you will find the kids scooter will be well received and put to good use.

Back to School Organizing For Kids 101 - Backpacks & Book Bags

Backpacks and book bags are a back to school staple. Every kid needs at least one! Have you seen how they look inside? Most of the time, they are crammed full of papers in a haphazard fashion. I've seen many kids digging out every book and paper searching for what they need or want.

Here are some handy tips to keep your backpacks and book bags organized. No more digging around in the bottom or losing your homework!

When purchasing a new backpack or book bag, make sure they have these features to help keep things neat and tidy!

Backpack and Book Back Organizing Tips

  • Outside Pockets This is a great place for putting small items such as zip bags where you keep your pens, pencils, rulers, lip gloss etc. Keep things you need to reach often in these areas. If your bag doesn't have outside pockets, use the one on the inside instead. If your bag doesn't have either, purchase a pen/pencil container or zipper bag to keep the smaller items contained and in one location. Try to find a bag that has outside as well as inside pockets for best organization.
  • Inside Pockets This is a great place for small things that you want to keep more secure such as money, keys, cell phones, etc. Don't place things that are important or expensive in outside pockets where they can be easily taken.
  • Zipper Bags This is a great place for those pens, pencils, etc. Girls can keep a separate one for lip gloss, hair clips, etc. If you have special small items you need for a particular class, consider purchasing a separate zipper bag for that class and label it accordingly.
  • Drinks Water bottles, sports drinks, sodas, etc. are best in a pocket with a net and stored on the outside, away from books and papers.
  • Multiple Bags If you participate in sports, band, or other extra curricular activities that require extra gear, consider purchasing an additional bag to store the gear for each activity separately. This will keep like things together. Just don't forget to take the correct bag with you when you need it!
  • Clean Regularly Go through the bag and clean it out daily. It's best to do it right after you come home. Put your trash in the trash - but don't trash that note from the teacher! Put your lunch items up when you get home. You don't want week-old, moldy sandwiches in the bottom of your bag!
  • File It Away File your important papers when you clean out your bag (right after you get home is best). Pin up reminders, project notes, etc. on your bulletin board or message area. Write important deadlines on your white board. You won't forget a thing if you do it right away.
  • Prepare For Tomorrow Pack your bag before going to bed. This will short cut your time getting ready in the morning. You're also less likely to forget something important if you do it now than first thing in the morning rush to get out the door. If you're not a morning person, packing your books now will let you sleep later in the morning!

These handy tips will keep you organized, clean and ahead of the pack!

Fun Science Facts - Great Science Projects!

You may not believe it, but every one of these facts is true. Fun science facts are fascinating and, with a little imagination, make great science fair projects.

If you are a kid, do you know that you have 94 more bones in your body than your parents. You have 300 bones in your body. Your parents each have only 206 bones. As children grow older, some of their bones fuse together. How about this idea for a science fair project? How many bones do other animals have? Do young animals have more bones than adult animals of the same species?

You will never guess which animal is the most dangerous in the world. It's the common housefly. Because of their habit of dropping waste, they transmit more disease than any other animal. What other sources of disease transmission can you think of for a winning science fair project idea?

If you are a six foot adult and you could jump as high as a flea, you would jump over a 90 story building. Fleas can jump 130 times their own height. An adult with the same athletic prowess could jump 780 feet. You could do a science experiment about other bugs and animals and how high they can jump, and then submit it as your next science fair project.

What do you have in your body that measures 60,000 miles? The blood vessels in the average body measure about 60,000 miles. This could be a winning science fair project idea. Do some research and find out how many miles of blood vessels there are in several different animals.

My what big eyes you have. Do you know who or what has the biggest eyes on the planet? Finding out just who or what could make an exciting science fair project. It's the giant squid with eyes that measure 15 inches wide.

Just how far can the sound of an animal be heard. One hundred yards? One mile? How about 500 miles? That's how far the low frequency sound of a humpback whale can be heard. Find out how far other animal sounds can be heard and see if you can come up with an award winning science fair project.

Did you know -- the universe contains over 100 billion galaxies; more germs are transferred shaking hands than kissing; giraffes never lie down. All great science facts that would make great science fair projects!

Outdoor Trampolines And Other Outdoor Toys

No matter the age of a child there will always be a need to have outdoor fun and activities while giving the child some learning skills involved. Kids always have games and videos when in the home, but what about when the child goes out to play? Well we have a solution to that as well. Outdoor toys supply children with both fun, enjoyment, and problem solving skills at the same time.

Outdoor toys manufactured by Madfun, of the many products that they carry the Trampoline is probably one of the most known and used toy. It offers excitement and expends a child's physical energy at the same time allows them to have fun. Years ago there were many problems with Trampolines due to children falling off or hitting objects when coming down. However in recent days this has been curbed by a Net that can be placed around the trampoline. Another new addition to trampolines are accessories like stairs, Tie Down Kits, Covers, Zero Gravity Safety Enclosures, and Slamma Jamma Hoop Kits.

Another favorite is the Climbing frames, which are made of wood and prefabricated for easy assembly. The more add-ons you get when you purchase a Climbing frame costs more but some additions include: Slides, Rope Ladders, and even fake Rock climbing Walls. On both the Trampoline and Climbing frame you must consider the size of play area needed to avoid any problems with other outdoor items such as bird baths, gardens, patios, and decks.

Wooden Playhouses work well with children and young adults alike as it adds a sense of a playhouse or pretend home. They help encourage children to learn pretending and sometimes problem solving skills around the home. Being made of real wood they are durable and last for long periods of time. Wooden Playhouses also come in many varieties and sizes, making them ideal for children of all ages. Consumers can also purchase kitchens, and other accessories to go with it to add to the fun.

Having a craving for more mythological ideas then the Inflatable Bouncy Castle is the one for you. Why not slay the evil dragon and then have lunch, and while we are at it, the castle needs moved to the other side of the park. No problem this toy is easily inflatable and deflate able making it an easy task to move. Inflatable Bouncy Castles are a great choice if you have limited room in the back yard to use.

There are also riding toys that are convertible for children who cannot reach the ground yet. After the child is able to reach the ground, the parents can convert the toy so that they no longer have to push them to go. These toys are great for outside play, especially when in a playground or in the backyard. Some of the larger models do actually work, such as the Go Cart. It is recommended that children should be attended when driving the Go Cart and be age appropriate. There is a Pedal Go Cart as well from Madfun, which allows a rider to not require a motor to run.

Madfun also supplies swimming pools for those who enjoy the water. Why leave a kid outside on a hot day getting sun burned? Getting a pool for those hot days in the summer is a great idea. With Madfun there are plenty of accessories to go with the pool as well like a volleyball net, Ladder, Floating LED light, and even a heater. Swimming pools help young children and adults learn to swim, get plenty of exercise and keep cooled down. Swimming Pools range in size and price, so make sure if you buy one to get the right liner for cold winters or when the pool is not in use.

Overall, be it trampolines, climbing frames, playhouses or any other outdoor toy children can play in the safety of their back garden, away from roads and traffic and not just sitting indoors in front of games consoles.

Baby Bedding Sets

Like the popular bed in a bag bedding ensembles, baby bedding sets come in coordinating styles, colors and fabrics. This makes it easy to give your babys nursery a custom look at ready-made prices. Heres some information about choosing baby bedding sets.

First and foremost, be sure your crib is a standard size. Like full-size bedding, baby bedding is designed to fit a certain size crib. You might want to buy the bedding first and design the room around it this will avoid clashes or impossible-to-match wallpaper and/or paint. Baby bedding should be made of durable, washable fabrics and be well-constructed. If you choose a crib thats neutral in color, it will be easier to coordinate the bedding with it.

What can you expect to receive in a baby bedding set? Minimally, you should get a quilt or comforter, fitted sheet and crib bumper. Other items that might be included or available separately are crib skirts, valances or other window treatments, pillows, laundry bags and diaper holders. You might even find coordinating mobiles and/or lamps and lampshades. Blankets are nice additions, as are toy bags and wall hangings.

If you know the gender of your baby, there are boy- or girl-oriented sets. If you dont know if your baby is a boy or girl, there are very attractive gender-neutral ensembles with a wide array of extras. Cost can be an issue, with designer sets rivaling custom sets in price. But usually, quality increases with price, so try to buy the best set you can afford. And remember, the babys safety is uppermost. For example, even if your set comes with pillows, they should never be put in the crib of a very young baby.

The ultimate benefit of a baby bedding set is convenience. With one purchase, you can take care of most of the decorating needs of the nursery, from crib to windows. A coordinated set will pull the room together and make it a welcoming place for you and your baby.

Baby Bedding provides detailed information on Baby Bedding, Custom Baby Bedding, Baby Bedding Sets, Designer Baby Bedding and more. Baby Bedding is affiliated with Round Baby Cribs.

Introducing Toddlers to the Library

When many people think of libraries they remember the multiple times they were hushed as a child. Years ago librarians were considered the library police and often thought of as unfriendly old ladies out to prevent fun at all costs. Well luckily for todays children those times are past and a whole new world of library fun exists for your toddler. Toddlers in the library? Yes! Toddlers love the library and as a parent you have the perfect opportunity to introduce your young child to new adventures in learning and literature.

Studies have shown that young children who are read to are more successful at learning to read, and what better place to light the spark of learning in your toddler than at the library. By introducing reading to your child at an early age youre setting the standard for making books a permanent part of their lives.

Childrens librarian Patty Collins of the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library in Junction City Kansas says about todays libraries:

The libraries of today arent like those we used as kids. Many libraries have childrens sections where noise, activity, and exploration are welcomed. Colored tubs on the floor or on low shelves contain board books and tray puzzles. Books filled with bold, colorful illustrations rest on low shelves to make them accessible at kid-height. Computers loaded with age appropriate games and child sized check-out desks make even the youngest users feel as though they have some ownership of their library

For parents who are looking for fun ways to share books and reading with their toddler, story time is just the ticket. Childrens librarians, often known as Story-Ladies, become favorite people in little kids lives, leaving a warm memory of a fun library rather than a place where silence is the rule.

Story times are like insurance for a library, Collins says. Kids are often so excited about the books that were shared or the subject that was explored during story time, that they will want to check out books to take home and share their new-found knowledge with their parents and siblings. That 30 minutes with the Story-Lady can potentially lead to an entire weeks worth of entertainment and learning for a two year old.

What can you do to further enrich your childs library experience? The American Library Association offers some tips:

Ask about toddler story time at your local library.

Check out books to read to your toddler at home.

When you read to your toddler use an expressive voice.

Make sure to hold the book so your toddler can easily see the pictures.

Let your toddler handle the book and ask him to point out objects on the pages.

When your toddler finds a favorite book, read it to him over and over again.

Take your toddler to the library and enroll him in story time so that he may experience a group reading program. Let your child help pick out his own books to take home. Snuggle up with your toddler and let him point out pictures and objects on the pages. Make time every day to read aloud to your child. Those special moments reading to your toddler are some of the most enjoyable times of the day, and by sharing books at an early age you set the stage for a lifetime of reading.

How to Stop Their Child From Crying in 30 Seconds Or Less

Have you ever been at a restaurant, and your child wanted what your other child got? Your other child would not share, and all of a sudden your 2 year old started screaming? No matter what you tried he or she would not calm down. How about you were working on something important, and all of sudden your child began screaming? The kids fought over a toy, and one of them was screaming their head off. If you have ever felt this way, I am here to tell you that I have found the solution to your problem.

Being a mother of 3 children, I have felt this way many times, and always wished I could have a solution to make the child quiet in 30 seconds or less. That way everyone can move on, and I don't need to get stressed, nor do they need to be stressed, or crying.

My first question to all parents is why do children cry? There are many reasons a child cries. I will list briefly what some of those reasons are: hunger, fear, someone hurt them, they want something, or just trying to get attention. Have you ever been in a situation where you have a 2-7 year old and something happens, and they begin crying so loud? Crying uncontrollably? It's as if someone was trying to kidnap them, yet nothing has happened to them. To the child it feels as if their world is falling apart. Yet most parents feels that ignoring the problem is the solution, but it's not. I have stated what some doctor's have to say about that, after extensive research being done on children crying."

"One study showed infants who experienced persistent crying episodes were 10 times more likely to have ADHD as a child, along with poor school performance and antisocial behavior. The researchers concluded these findings may be due to the lack of responsive attitude of the parents toward their babies." (Wolke, D, et al, Persistent Infant Crying and Hyperactivity Problems in Middle Childhood, Pediatrics, 2002; 109:1054-1060.)

"Dr. Brazy at Duke University and Ludington-Hoe and colleagues at Case Western University showed in 2 separate studies how prolonged crying in infants causes increased blood pressure in the brain, elevates stress hormones, obstructs blood from draining out of the brain, and decreases oxygenation to the brain. They concluded that caregivers should answer cries swiftly, consistently, and comprehensively." (J pediatrics 1988 Brazy, J E. Mar 112 (3): 457-61. Duke University. Ludington-Hoe SM, Case Western U, Neonatal Network 2002 Mar; 21(2): 29-36)

Due to all of these factors and many more, I decided to find a solution to the problem that many parents face.

What is the new technique? Well, reading many books in this field, studying child psychology, and going to many seminars still sometimes doesn't equip you for what real life throws at you. At amazement one day, I told myself I had to figure out how to quiet these kids quickly, and effectively. For I am a stay at home who home schools, and works from home. I couldn't have them crying all day, if I was teaching the other ones, or if I started cleaning. Yet, I don't have the time to sit with each one for 10-15 minutes at a time. That alone took most of my time. That's when I tested and tried my new strategy. I thought if it worked for me, than it could work on anyone. Are you ready?

Basically, anytime a child begins to cry for whatever reason it is:

1. You take a deep breath and then bring them close to you, and then go through these exercises with them.
2. You show them how to take a deep breath. As they take one, take another one, and then another one. I usually take 4-5 deep breaths with them, and then I say ok, now we will do it this way.
3. I start to blow out faster and faster and laugh while I am doing it. They love this part the most. They blow out and smile and laugh with me. It changes their whole mood, and they no longer are crying.
4. Once they have clamed down, then I sit them on my lap and ask them what happened. By this time, their smiling and they have to use a normal tone, not a whining tone to tell me what happened.
5. After they tell me, then I help them figure out what went wrong, and what not to do again, to get that type of reaction. They agree, and it's finally over. I break the pattern they are in, with a whole new pattern, which helps them calm themselves down.

I have used this technique not only on my children, but also my neighbor's children, nieces and nephews. Their ages ranged from 2-7 years old. It has worked every time for me. It just takes some patience, time and practice. You will see eventually the kids will be doing these techniques to other kids they see behaving the way they did. My son and daughter sometimes teach me these techniques if I am sad and crying. It really works for adults as well as children. You just need 30 seconds to implement it, and then they're on their way.

Once you can get your child to learn these new habits, you then teach them that crying and whining doesn't really help them get what they want. If they want something, they need to ask for it kindly, and if it is something the parent thinks the child needs they will get it, if it is not, then they need to understand the parent knows best. The more the parent is able to explain to the child, the better the child understands. Sometimes it takes 10 - 20 times of repetition, but eventually it does soak in. It is also at this time, that I speak to the other child about how they treated this one. If there is two or three of them, then once this child is relaxed, I go over and tell the other ones, what they did was wrong, and that' not how we should treat this situation. I then give them an example of how I would treat this situation. That way they are aware that there is many ways to deal with a situation. I want the kids to put that in their memory banks of their brains, and use it when this situation or another similar one arises.

A few more quotes on why crying is not the right thing for a child to carry on

"Leaving a baby to cry evokes physiological responses that increase stress hormones. Crying infants experience an increase in heart rate, body temperature and blood pressure. These reactions are likely to result in overheating and, along with vomiting due to extreme distress, could pose a potential risk of SIDS in vulnerable infants. There may also be longer-term emotional effects. There is compelling evidence that increased levels of stress hormones may cause permanent changes in the stress responses of the infant's developing brain. These changes then affect memory, attention, and emotion, and can trigger an elevated response to stress throughout life, including a predisposition to later anxiety and depressive disorders." Pinky McKay

Pinky McKay is the mother of five, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a Certified Infant Massage Instructor.

English psychotherapist, Sue Gerhardt, author of Why Love Matters: How Affection Shapes a Baby's Brain, " explains that when a baby is upset, the hypothalamus produces cortisol. In normal amounts cortisol is fine, but if a baby is exposed for too long or too often to stressful situations (such as being left to cry) its brain becomes flooded with cortisol and it will then either over- or under-produce cortisol whenever the child is exposed to stress. Too much cortisol is linked to depression and fearfulness; too little to emotional detachment and aggression."

At this time I would like to go into a summary of how all of this works:

First, take a deep breath your self.
Next, bring the crying child over and teach them how to take deep breaths, tell them to follow you. Take about 4-5 Deep Breaths.
Third, have them blow out back to back for another 10 seconds. By this time, the kid should be laughing out loud with you.
Fourth, now you have broken their pattern of crying into being happy.
Ask what happened, and help them understand.

This is vital to break the pattern. Once the pattern is broken with something better taking its place then it won't be long when, you'll notice they cry less and less. As they age they will realize that crying should be left for something really painful and not every two minutes. As parents and educators we need to teach them to learn there are different styles and ways to do things. We need them to be able to help them calm themselves down, and them to formulate that habit as they grow up. To be confident, and handle any situation that comes at them with a different approach. This approach will lower their stress and build their confidence. The less they cry, and the more they are loved, the more stability these kids will have with their own emotions.

The Up-Side of Driving Motor Scooters

For years traditional scooters have been a common kids toy, second only to a bicycle, simply because they are fun to ride and they move you around easily to closely surrounding areas. Motor scooters have also existed for many years but until recently they have never been a popular form of transportation, except for the few people who have supported them from the beginning.

Now, with more and more people making short commutes to places around a largely populated city, motor scooters have risen as an efficient and effective means of transportation for these quick drives. In the United States the widespread use of motor scooters as an alternate vehicle is even a newer concept than it is in other, mostly European, countries.

In some ways the rise of motor scooter use is attributed to the growing number of people with a concern for the environment.

Motor scooters are a much wiser choice for around the town transportation than a normal sized vehicle is because of scooters ability to efficiently use gas. Some motor scooters are electric powered, which has nearly no negative impact on the environment. Electric motor scooters are fueled by rechargeable batteries that typically last for 10 miles and larger models can travel greater distances.

The basic motor scooter models that are simply a traditional scooter with a small electric or gas motor installed run between 10 and 15 mph, making them perfect kids getting around the neighborhood or college students commuting across campus. Larger models of motor scooters, of course, have bigger motors, allowing you to travel longer and at higher speeds. These models of motor scooters are similar, if not identical, to the design of mopeds because they are one or two seaters.

Aside from the environmental benefits of using motor scooters, they have become increasingly popular across the nation because of the diverse uses they can be put to. The age range motor scooters are appropriate and beneficial for begins before the actual driving age and extends far beyond it, nearly endlessly. Kids use motor scooters to bounce from house to house in their surrounding neighborhood. Teens can use them to get to, from and around school and they can take their motor scooter on short ventures around town.

Adults have found that motor scooters are an excellent second vehicle because they save money on fuel, even if it is gas powered, and they are easy to store in tight places. You may want to use your motor scooter to run quick errands or hop over to the grocery store. Those who are of driving age and live in a heavily populated area will notice that getting around the busy town is much quicker and less stressful when traveling on a motor scooter as opposed to driving your full size vehicle.

All in all motor scooters are an exceptional solution for many lifestyles, whether it is to use as a childs toy or as an alternate transportation method. As a result of the growing popularity of motor scooters, manufacturers have released many new and diverse models, which is only another benefit for the consumers.

Teaching Children that Being Different Isn't "Special"

How many times have you stared at a person who looked different? The person could be largely overweight, have some sort of physical deformity or be too tall or too short.. but whatever it was about them, they were different from you.

I have to admit, I used to stare at people different from me. That was until I spent time with someone very close to me that got stares all day long. I realized that this person dealt with more uncomfortable situations in a day than most of us deal with in a lifetime!

In our house, the word fat is a naughty word. So is big. So is anything that could be potentially uncomfortable for anyone else. With a 5 year old however, there is always going to be a situation like what happened a few years ago when we were in line at the grocery store. The pimply young cashier intrigued my son and Jeremy yelled out, he has OUCHIES on his face. Well, what can you do?

Today was an opportunity for a good lesson regarding special needs children. I took my son to the Doctor for a physical and being flu season there were several children there with physical and mental disabilities that are considered high risk. Right across from us was a man with his son in a very elaborate wheel chair. The chair secured the boy who probably couldnt sit up on his own. The boy spoke very slowly and was severely mentally and physically challenged.

But his eyes lit up when I asked the daddy if I could introduce my son to him. Jeremy had been staring at him and told me he couldnt talk so I asked the dad if we could meet him. The dad seemed happy too so I crossed the room to sit down right by him and asked the boy his name. He said Tim . I said, hi Tim, this is Jeremy . Then I asked, How old are you Tim? He said, Ten. While I talked with him I rubbed his leg gently and I could see he was trying to put his hand out for me to grab it. I asked Jeremy to tell Tim how old he was.

The conversation was short but sweet. The nurse then called them in and the dad looked at me and thanked me and we said goodbye.

On the way home, I was able to explain to Jeremy that Tim has feelings just like any kid who wants to fit in. He wants to have friends and experience life and love his family. He doesnt want to be laughed at or pointed at just because he is different. And he doesnt want to be special. He just wants to be normal.

I felt good about having the opportunity to introduce Jeremy to Tim. I want him to feel as comfortable talking with someone in a wheel chair as he would anyone that was able bodied. I want him to know that everyone, no matter WHO they are or what their circumstances, wants to be acknowledged and not ignored, talked with and not stared at, and they want people just to be comfortable and not intimidated.

I dont know if it made an impression on Jeremy today, but I feel that it did. Well continue to speak with whoever comes along our path no matter how different they are from us.

Teaching our children not to stare is probably impossible. But teaching them to share a conversation with people who are different is truly remarkable!

Yorkshire Terrier Training - How To Bring A New Pet Into Your Home That Your Yorkie Will Accept

Yorkshire terriers can be wonderful pets. The problem arises when there are other pets in your home. You Yorkie may become aggressive, possessive, or withdrawn when you bring another dog or cat into your household. There are ways to train your Yorkshire terrier when this happens so that you can regain peace and tranquility in your home. Here are some tips on what to do when your Yorkie reacts to a new pet in a negative way.

  • Hold your Yorkie when you first introduce a new pet into your home. This will make your dog feel loved instead of rejected. Just the act of having your dog up higher than the new pet will be comforting.
  • Make sure your dog has her own area in which to sleep, play, and eat. Give the new pet her own area as well, so that neither dog will become territorial or aggressive.
  • Get down on the floor with both dogs and allow them to get to know each other slowly. The way you introduce two animals in the very beginning will have a big impact on how they relate to each other later on.
  • Do not allow the new pet to play with your Yorkie's toys. Just like with a small child, no one likes to share with the new kid. Find a toy for the new dog that will belong just to them.
  • Do not leave the animals alone together for the first few days, until you know for sure that they will get along. It is best to separate them using an enclosure of some type.

By following these tips you can be sure that everyone will get along together and that you can enjoy having more than one pet in your home.

And now I invite you to learn more about training your Yorkshire terrier by visiting http://www.YorkshireTerriersAreTheBest.com to get more information in all areas of caring for and training your Yorkie.

Stickers Are Still One Of The Most Popular Things With Kids

Go back in time to when many of us were children, do you remember the scratch and sniff stickers that would gain you attention during class? Every kid on the planet, boy or girl, loves stickers. Peruse many online auction listings for Garbage Pail Kids stickers, and the proof is undeniable. Stickers are valuable commodities.

Stickers are inexpensive items that generally can only be used once, yet children go nuts for them. Bank tellers know this and often hand out stickers to any customer who has a child in tow. Grocery store cashiers happily hand over "paid" stickers to youngsters who ask. So, what is the fascination?

Children love sticking these nifty items all over their notebooks, books, doors, and even their bodies. Ask any child why they have stickers on their face and they will answer, "Because it is fun". Stickers are a means to that child expressing his or her individual personality. Of course, many children will admit that sneaking stickers onto unsuspecting family members' backs is also fun.

Some of today's best selling stickers include popular movies like Finding Nemo, Cars, or Flushed Away. Popular television characters like Strawberry Shortcake, Thomas The Tank Engine, Pokemon, My Little Pony, Spongebob, and Rugrats are also top sellers.

Older children love stickers from their favorite musicians. Stickers with images of Green Day, Britney Spears, Usher, Kayne West, and Hillary Duff sell out of stores quickly. Why? It is a child or teenager's way to express a little about him or herself.

Think back to your own childhood. I remember in fifth and sixth grade, my notebooks and binders were covered in scratch and sniff stickers. As I aged, rock bands like AC/DC and Aerosmith replaced the girly stickers from my past. By high school, the cruder Garbage Pail Kids were far more appealing. It just goes to show that even as I aged, stickers were still forms of entertainment.

You may be surprised to learn that many stores are now selling Garbage Pail Kids again. Like many children's toys, stickers from the past are making a comeback. Stickers never go out of style. They still appeal to children and always will.

Though they are fun, you should teach your child about the importance of some stickers. Remember Mr. Yuck? Mr. Yuck was a brightly colored sticker placed on poisonous items to warn children from touching or ingesting that item. Make sure children know the difference!

Obviously, you should watch little ones who have stickers. Toddlers are usually tempted to put just about anything in their mouths and stickers can be a choking hazard to children that age. It is best to closely monitor a toddler if you decide to allow that child to play with a sticker.

Stickers help bring out the artistic nature in children of all ages. As many sticker sheets cost a couple dollars, it is an excellent way to surprise a child. A sheet of stickers will certainly brighten your child's day.

There are lots of toys available in the market and you will get suitable toys for any age group you want. The toys are perfectly divided into categories for kids of different ages keeping in mind the mental status and ability of the child. If you have a toddler you will need to purchase something that will be of interest for your small child and also keep him busy. He must enjoy the game or play with the toy and have fun. At the same time, if you buy some sensible toys, you can teach him about the different colors, shapes and sizes, and make his concept clear about opposites like big and small, fat and thin etc. If you will tell at the store the age of your child, the salesperson will give you the information of what type of toys will be the best for your child.

For a child who is little bigger than a toddler say of age 1 or 2 years, then you need to buy different toys that will keep him engaged. Along with this it would be good to buy some educational toys so that the child learns lots of things while he is playing. You can teach him counting, ask him to search for the alphabets or numbers or teach him the nursery rhymes with the CD and lots more. But first of all you need to understand his behavior and interests so that you offer him the toy of his choice and the purpose of a support for him is also fulfilled. The child can learn to balance and get familiar with the motion if you buy him a rocking horse. You have to look after the overall development of your child without interfering in his fun and enjoyment.

When the child is a toddler, he grows very fast and the development of his mind is also very fast and needs to be molded into perfect direction.
