In Masters of Mystery: Crime of Fashion, the game tells us that the fashion world is not just an industry smack full of glitz and glamour. Many times, it's filled with controversy, gossip and even crime. It's a string of murders in fact, stretching the wits of Detective Carrie Chase in this hidden object casual game.
You play as Chase, a newly hired detective of the New York police force. For your first assignment, you're off to solve a vicious murder revolving around the depths of the fashion industry. Never did you know that you'll be dealing with a serial killer at large. And to make matters worst, the killer knows your identity from the start, as you go through a cat and mouse chase all across the highlights of the city's buzzing fashion design business.
The gameplay of Masters of Mystery: Crime of Fashion follows a typical and straightforward hidden object rule where you are given a list of items to find and all you have to do is search for them within the confines of the scene. You are timed for each level and to help you out, you'll be given a constantly replenishing hint button you can click whenever full to instantly locate a random item from the list. Finish the level and you'll get the next installment to the storyline, complete with dialogue between the characters and their distinct personalities.
At the first parts of the game, you are to be given tools collected in your inventory. Many times, you'll encounter items listed that you won't be able to find by the use of your naked eye. When this happens, bring out a corresponding tool, like the duster to look for fingerprints, and the UV light to look for blood smears scattered in each crime scene. Some tools are very handy every level too, like the magnifying glass for a little of that zoom effect.
