The Magellan 980915 TrafficKit for RoadMate 2200T and Crossover GPS sends real-time traffic information and other reports directly to your Magellan RoadMate 2200T. This unit is required in order for your Magellan RoadMate 2200T to take advantage of its real-time traffic capability, and allows you to more easily avoid accidents, road construction, slow-downs, severe weather, road closures and more. Once the 980915 TrafficKit has been installed, your RoadMate 2200T will not only be able to provide you with on-screen icons that will easily identify the location of relevant traffic incidents, but will be able to automatically re-route you around most major road delays. User's should note that real-time traffic information is a subscription service that involves a monthly fee. The 980915 system comes with an advanced cradle, and includes a three-month trial traffic subscription.

This did not work, I activated the traffic and went on I95 and got stuck in a 5 mile traffic backup. The radio stations all had the accident but the Traffickit was saying NO INCIDENTS ON THE ROUTE!!

I have been using this now for a little over a month. My only complaint may be based more on the base unit rather than the traffic kit. It does not seem to look very far ahead, so by the time it shows a traffic tie-up, I am often already in it. The suggested detours have been very handy at times. It has come up with some imaginative ways around downtown Dallas that I never would have considered before. The reason I went with this combo is that many other GPSs required compatible cell phones and none of them seemed to work with mine. While this one does require a subscription, at least I don't have to base my choice of cell phones on whether or not it will work with my GPS.
